I think we're all hoping for a lovely calm start to school after the holidays. Despite the confusion during 2020/2021, all pupils who worked with me at The Little Academy, did really well. Their confidence improved (which is the foundation to any studying), their learning, understanding and grades improved and we had a great time working together online.

Kate quickly connected with our teenage son and soon made him realise his potential in a subject he had previously struggled with. I loved the way she took time to work out his best learning methods and adapted to make the most of these.

When the schools were closed my son, who is neurodiverse, struggled to engage. He enjoys language and reading so, to play to his strengths, I engaged Kate to work with him virtually. Kate has really helped boost his self-esteem and gave him the opportunity to engage 1-2-1 with an adult tutor which he finds far more comfortable than a class of children! I would definitely recommend Kate as a professional, adaptable and patient tutor.

I originally got in touch with Kate to support my son with his English as he had recently started S1. The lessons varied from reading various texts, compiling short written tasks as well as talking through areas of his school work to compound his learning while reinforcing his understanding. Even throughout lockdown, Kate took time to tailor the lessons around what he was covering at school as well as areas which would allow him to progress and become more confident when dealing with his assignments.
